OCT. 1917 COVER FROM ISTANBUL, addressed to an officer in the 3rd Army Division stationed along the Gaza/Tel Sheria/Beer Sheva front at that time. On arrival cancelled with Turkish Field Post Office 22 receiving cancel (light) in the unrecorded purple color. The British attacked this front on October 26, and broke through the on October 31 in Beer Sheva, and overran the Turkish positions after a week long battle. Photo. Estimated Value $500

JANUARY 1915 POSTAL CARD 10 para (+10 para stamp) from Damascus to a German Lieutenant of the German Military force in AUJAH EL HAFIR. Cover addressed "Hafir El Aujeh--Bir es Seba' Sud (South) Palestina", since Beer Sheva was the center housing the headquarters of the Turkish--German military forces. Postcard censored in Beer Sheva, and oval "Examined in Beer Sheva" black cachet applied. Less than 4 are known as such. Extremely scarce. Photo. Estimated Value $750.
